St Peter's, Spixworth

A church has stood on this site in Spixworth for more than 900 years. Situated at the very heart of the Saxon settlement of Spikeswurtha, at the junction of the tracks to Horsham St Faith and to Frettenham, it served just a handful of settlers.

By the time of the Domesday survey of 1086 the manor had only ten men (plus women and children), thirteen sheep and a mill.

As the prosperity of the manor grew during the 13th and 14th century the church was enlarged and remodelled.

St Peter's not only enjoys a rich history, it is also a vibrant Christian community today. Our weekly services bring together a mixture of local people of all ages. A children's group (Sunday Rocks); a youth group (SHADES); a Choir; Mothers Union are just some of the organisations which flow out of our worship. St Peter's today provides both a place to worship together and also a place of peace and sancturay within our busy world.
